Sendha namak, a type of salt, is formed when salt water from a sea or lake evaporates and leaves behind colorful crystals of sodium chloride. It’s also called halite, saindhava lavana, or rock salt.Also known as Himalayan rock salt, this large crystalline salt is harvested in the Punjab region of Pakistan. The crystals are off-white to white in color. They are relished for the many trace minerals in the salt and is not chemically treated like regular table salt.
